This holiday season, Motor City Sings invites you to experience Cadence of Colors – a holiday musical celebration of the diversity and creativity within the LGBTQIA+ community. Featuring the debut of new holiday music composed by Detroit artists Baddie Brooks, Jessye, and Alise King, Cadence of Colors promises to be an unforgettable evening of music, storytelling, and community.
We have commissioned some of Detroit’s most talented LGBTQIA+ artists and poets to craft original works exploring holiday-related themes such as seasonal depression, faith and identity conflicts, chosen family, and economic hardships to help promote mental health resilience and suicide prevention. Cadence of Colors provides a safe, nurturing space for LGBTQIA+ artists to share their stories through creative expression. The event will showcase these stories and create an inclusive environment where attendees can connect, heal, and find solace.
The program's goal is to address the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals during the holiday season, offering joy and hope through music, spoken word, and community. This initiative is made possible through the generous support of the Michigan Arts and Culture Council and New Music USA. We are also partnering with LGBTDetroit, LGBT+ Plays, and Midtown Inc. order Tickets Below: |
