SO WHAT IS THIS?
The Motor City Singers' Space is a themed musical event series designed to remove the stigma from mental health awareness through non-traditional provision of suicide prevention resources to audiences in Southeastern Michigan. Our themed events run somewhat in the style of a Musical Variety showcase (think somewhere in between The Carol Burnett Show and Russel Simmons presents Def Poetry). Singers sign up in advance to perform songs within each event's theme and interwoven throughout each show are trivia segments, singing challenges, and dance battles, designed with the purpose of building camaraderie, invigorating creativity, and help our audiences grow more comfortable in taking inventory of their own mental health.
